Set up credential and skill tags

Choose which tags your agency books with, add your own, and use them for eligibility gating and best-fit dispatch.

Tags describe interpreter skills and credentials across categories like Modality, Specialization, Credential, and Setting. They gate who can be assigned, feed best-fit ranking, and can trigger rate differentials and flat charges. OneTerp maintains a shared catalog of common tags, and your agency decides which of them to show plus adds any of its own.

Step by step

  1. 1Open Settings, Operations & Alerts, then Tags. Turning tags on and off needs Settings access.
  2. 2Every tag sits in one grid. Click a tag to turn it on or off for your agency; tags that are off stop appearing when you book a job or set up a customer.
  3. 3Most agencies book with a handful, so "Turn all off" and then clicking back the ones you actually use is usually quickest.
  4. 4Use "Add your own tag" for anything the shared catalog does not cover. Your own tags are yours to edit and delete.
  5. 5Skills and credentials on an interpreter come from their own profile, so you read them on their roster entry rather than editing them. Your own tags work the other way: open a roster entry and use "Add one of your tags" to put one on someone.
  6. 6You can also let interpreters do that themselves. When you add or edit your own tag, "Who can add it" offers three choices: only your agency, interpreters can add it, or interpreters can request it and you confirm. A requested tag shows in the roster entry as waiting for you and counts for nothing until you confirm it.
  7. 7Attach required qualification tags to customers (and preferred tags to consumers) so jobs only allow qualified interpreters.
  8. 8When scheduling, required tags from the customer and the assignment are merged to determine which interpreters are eligible.

Tips

  • Turning a tag off never deletes anything. A job that already carries the tag keeps it, and you can turn it back on any time.
  • The shared catalog itself is maintained by OneTerp, so you cannot rename or delete those tags. You control whether they show, and you can add your own alongside them.
  • A tag marked as affecting a rate differential or flat charge cannot be deleted while that pricing rule still points at it. Detach it from the rule first.
  • Expired credential tags are automatically excluded from an interpreter's active qualifications.
  • Updating an interpreter's tags syncs across all of their active agency relationships.
