Your 12 months start the moment you redeem, not before.

  1. Get your program's code

    One code for your whole class, something like ITP-SP27. Your program shares it however they already reach you: a slide, a post in your LMS, a handout, or read out on the last day.

  2. Make yourself a free OneTerp account

    It takes a minute and costs nothing, ever. If your program gave you a link with the code already in it, keep using that link and the code follows you through signup.

  3. Enter the code

    Your free year starts right then. A code your program shared in May is still a full 12 months for you if you redeem it in August.

A code works once per person, and each one carries a set number of places. If yours says the places are gone, tell your program. They can ask us for more, and trying does not use anything up.

Use a personal email address when you sign up, not your school one. Better still, make yourself a professional address now and start your career on it. Your school account gets switched off after you graduate. This one is yours for good, and so is everything you put in it.

Capitals, spaces and the hyphen make no difference. itp-sp27 and ITPSP27 are the same code.

When the year ends

  • We email you 30 days out. Nothing changes before that date.
  • On the day, the paid tools lock: invoices, the tax export, the certificate vault, your portfolio page.
  • Nothing you saved is deleted, ever. Your jobs, your income log and your CEU history stay exactly where they are.
  • Want to keep the paid tools? OneTerp Premium is $15 a month or $120 a year, and it picks up where the free year left off.

No code from your program?

OneTerp Launch runs through interpreter training programs, so the code comes from yours. If your program does not have one, that is almost always because nobody has asked us yet.

One code for your class. We never ask you for a student list.

You taught them to interpret. You taught them ethics, process, and how to hold a room. What almost nobody has time to teach is the paperwork of being self-employed, and that is what lands on them first. OneTerp Launch gives your students a free year of the business tools, on us, and it costs you one line on a slide.

Nothing to take to your registrar

A student’s email address, held by your school, is part of their education record. Handing a vendor a class roster means a FERPA conversation, a review, and a signature, for a free product. We know how that conversation ends, so we do not start it.

You share a code. Your students redeem it themselves. Nothing about any student reaches OneTerp until that student decides to make their own account, which makes them the one disclosing, about themselves, to a service they chose. There is no disclosure for you to justify, because there is no disclosure.

What it costs your program: nothing.

No contract. No purchase order. No procurement review, no budget line, no place in your curriculum. Nothing to install, nothing to administer, and no roster to keep up to date.

How it works

  1. We issue your program a code

    Something like ITP-SP27: yours, with a set number of places and a date it stops working. Nothing to install and nothing to administer.

  2. You share it however you already reach them

    A slide on the last day. A post in your LMS. A line in the handout. Said out loud in class. One string survives all of those; a roster survives none of them without somebody doing data entry.

  3. Each student redeems it themselves

    They make their own free account, enter the code, and their 12 months start at that moment. One person, one place, once. Whoever never gets round to it simply costs nothing. Worth telling them: use a personal address, not the school one, because this account outlives their student account.

  4. You tell us what to do next

    Ask us any time how many of your places have been claimed. Out of places and still have students? We add more. Want it to stop? We switch it off the same day.

What you control

  • How many places the code carries, so the offer can never cost more than you agreed to.
  • The date it stops working, set to your graduation or your internship start.
  • More places whenever you want them, including after the first batch has gone.
  • Switching it off, any time, for any reason.

Why we do it

OneTerp was built by a working sign language interpreter who started out exactly where your students are, and who learned invoicing the expensive way.

A new interpreter who tracks their mileage from job one, invoices like a professional from job one, and never loses a CEU certificate is a better colleague to all of us. That is the whole pitch. If they stay with us after the year, good. If they do not, they still keep everything they logged.

Questions programs ask us

Does this cost the program or the student anything?
Neither. The student needs no credit card and gives us no payment details to start a Launch Year. There is nothing for your program to sign or pay.
Do you need our students' names or email addresses?
No, and that is the point. We issue you a code and never see a student until that student makes their own account. Your roster stays where it belongs.
What stops the code getting passed around?
Honestly, not much, and that is deliberate. It carries a set number of places and stops when they run out, it stops working on a date you choose, and we can switch it off at any time. So the worst case is that the offer costs exactly the places you already decided to give away, which is a number you picked. We would rather a classmate who missed the last day still got in than lock the thing down and lose the student it was meant for.
How long is the free year, exactly?
12 months from the day each student redeems, tracked per student. A student who redeems in August has until the following August, whatever their classmates do. Sharing the code early costs them nothing.
When should I hand out the code?
Whenever you have their attention. Graduation and the start of internship both work, and they suit different programs. Because the clock starts on redemption, there is no penalty for sharing it early.
Can I see who used it?
We can tell you how many of your places have been claimed, so you know whether it landed. Not who claimed them: once a student has an account, what they do with it is theirs.
What happens at the end of the year?
We email them 30 days ahead, so the date is never a surprise. On the day, the paid tools lock and everything they logged stays. If they want to keep the paid tools, OneTerp Premium is $15 a month or $120 a year. Plenty of them will not need it, and we would rather say so here than surprise them later.
Do my students have to work for a particular agency?
No. The account is theirs, it is not tied to any agency, and it works the same whether they go staff, freelance, or both. Agencies on OneTerp show up in their one schedule. Agencies that are not on OneTerp do not stop anything working.

We never ask for a student list, so please don’t send one. Your students give us their own details when they make their own accounts, and not before.

OneTerp does not grant or approve CEUs and is not affiliated with any certifying body. The CEU tools track what you have earned and point you at workshops; your certifying body decides what counts.
